Boxing bandages for children - overview. What length is useful?
The 2.5 m long children's boxing bandages provide full power when punching, stability in the wrist and a comfortable fit. In addition to boxing gloves, the boxing bandages are an additional layer of protection that protects children's hands when boxing. The risk of injury is significantly reduced.
Wearing boxing hand wraps is useful for children, whether they are training or taking part in sparring.
What length is appropriate for children?
Because children's hands are smaller than those of adults, children's boxing bandages should be shorter than those for adults.
Even though the hands of boys and girls are not the same size at every age, the following lengths can be generally recommended:
4 - 6 years: 1.5 m
6 - 9 years: 2 m
9-13 years: 2.5 m.
From the age of 14, the 4.5 m long boxing bandages can be used.
How are the boxing bandages wrapped for children?
The children learn how to put on the boxing bandages and wrap them right away during the first training sessions. The children's boxing bandages are very easy to put on thanks to the thumb loop.
Correct wrapping of boxing bandages is crucial to ensure optimal support and protection.
1. Start by placing the thumb loop around your thumb, making sure the inside is correctly aligned with your hand.
2. Now wrap the band around your wrist and wrap it several times to ensure good stability.
3. Place the band over the palm of your hand and between your fingers.
4. Wrap the band around the ankles and wrist to provide additional support.
5. Wrap the band around your hand and wrist again to ensure a secure fit.
6. Complete the wrapping process by wrapping the band around your wrist and carefully tying a knot. Make sure the bandage is snug but not too tight.
Bandages that are too loose do not provide enough support, while bandages that are too tight can restrict blood circulation.
The boxing bandages are made of a semi-stretch material made of 70% nylon, 30% cotton, have an extra stable and scratch-free Velcro fastener and are 5.5 cm wide. The boxing bandages for children are designed in Germany.
